i've never heard of this guy, or seen his work before, but i like what he has to say about writing...

You’re sort of in the day-to-day world, you’re certainly there for your day-to-day relationships with people, and so on. But you’re always in this trance state, where whatever you’re working on is happening in your head. It’s taking up a lot of energy and time. That’s the pleasure, that’s the beauty of it.
